Highland Dental Center is a Certified Preferred Invisalign Provider
Consider Invisalign treatment to get the beautiful straight teeth you've always wanted — without braces. A consultation with Dr. Rekhi can determine if Invisalign clear aligners are right for you.
As a Preferred Invisalign Provider, Dr. Rekhi has had great success with Invisalign over the past decade. His experience as a general dentist and Invisalign provider allows him to straighten his patients’ teeth while also ensuring they maintain a high level of oral health.
While Dr. Rekhi participates in several forms of continuing education and training in Invisalign, he also has personal experience as an Invisalign patient. Having experienced Invisalign himself, he has a unique viewpoint and can relate to just about anything his patients may experience during treatment. Having used Invisalign on family members, friends, and his own smile shows his confidence in not only the product, but also his ability to get the best results possible.
What is it?
Invisalign treatment uses a series of virtually invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that allow you to smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign clear aligners are made with 3D computer imaging technology and have been proven effective. More than 70% of dentists and orthodontists in the US and Canada are certified to administer Invisalign treatment, including the Dr. Rekhi!
Why would I want it?
Not only are the aligners virtually invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also more comfortable than traditional braces, with no metal or wires, which also usually means you spend less time at Highland Dental Center getting adjustments. Invisalign treatment also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
How does it work?
During your initial consultation, Dr. Rekhi will evaluate your teeth, how they are positioned, and how they come together. Another important aspect is cooperation and compliance. Since Invisalign is a removable appliance, the doctor-patient team becomes very important. Invisalign treatment can only be a success if you wear the retainers for the prescribed time every day. If you and Dr. Rekhi decide that Invisalign is a good option, you can begin the impression stage of treatment as soon as possible.
You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to their final positions. You'll visit our Renton, Edmonds, or Kirkland, WA dental office about once every four to eight weeks depending on how well your teeth respond to the aligners. This gives Dr. Rekhi a chance to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your aligners.
Length of treatment varies from case to case, but Invisalign is very efficient at moving teeth. A shorter case can take anywhere from two to four months, while more complicated cases can take more than two years in duration. It all depends on the specific needs and goals of each patient.
Retainers also play an important role once the active phase of your Invisalign treatment is complete. We use Vivera® retainers manufactured from Invisalign for most of our patients. In some cases, we may provide fixed retainers such as a lingual bar, or a Hawley appliance for retention depending on the individual patient’s preference.
We look forward to helping you reach all your smile goals! To learn more about Invisalign, schedule an appointment at our Renton, Edmonds, of Kirkland, WA dental office.
